Motorola Leads PoC Global Market - Claim
Motorola Inc (NYSE:MOT), a communications company, is reported to be leading the Push-To-Talk over Cellular (PoC) global market, with 41 commercial deployments/contracts across 32 countries. Motorola's IMS-based PoC solution is used by millions of GSM and CDMA subscribers and it claims to have been the first to win EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America contracts for PoC. Its PoC customers include Telcel, VIVO and Claro in Central and South America, Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan, Turkcell in Turkey, Bouygues Telecom in France, Vodafone New Zealand, and Optimus and TMN in Portugal. In addition to the most PoC commercial deployments, Motorola says it has a growing device portfolio, ranging from the V400p, the first GSM/GPRS handset, to designs such as the Motorola SLVR. According to Motorola Networks EMEA, operators will soon be able to use 'push-to' technology to provide a range of new services to subscribers. The company said it anticipates being the first to market with a complete 'Push-to-View' next-generation solution on GSM PoC handsets later this year, which it claimed will reinforce its leadership of the PoC market.
